Side lunges build strength as well as flexibility on the quads, abductors, adductors, glutes, and calves. At the same time, they highly engage stabilizing muscles and core. Another great feature is that they work on balance.
Most lower body exercises do not involve lateral movements, making side lunges a great complementary exercise to your routine.
Side Lunges can be performed with your own body weight, dumbbells, kettlebells, a medicine ball or a barbell.
