For many people, the only signs that require dashing off to the hospital are severe pains that cannot be ignored. You’d be surprised by how many people attend to their daily lives, ignoring a constant throbbing in the head, mild pain in the chest, or discomfort in the joints that just don’t go away. Sometimes, even the most subtle symptom can indicate a serious health condition. That is why you should be aware of the most common health symptoms you should never ignore.

Forgetting People’s Names or Words

Have you noticed you keep forgetting the names of your colleagues, friends, or even family members? Do you often find yourself struggling to remember simple words? Do you also experience poor sleep and very high-stress levels?

You might want to find out if you have hypothyroidism, which is more common than you may think. According to experts, about 30 million people in America alone have this go, and unfortunately, watch it go undiagnosed because they’re not aware of the warning signals. Hypothyroidism occurs when your thyroid doesn’t produce the right combination of hormones, causing fogginess, low energy levels, and grogginess as a result.

Chest Pain or Upper Body Discomfort

It is easy to ignore mild chest pain, but it’s not advisable. Unlike in movies, heart attack symptoms come slowly. It may start with an uncomfortable but mild pain in the chest or feel like a squeezing or pressure in the middle of the chest that may last for a few minutes and disappear.

It is easy to ignore these symptoms and write them off, but they could be strong indicators of a heart attack waiting to happen, so you don’t want to take any chances. Anytime your body gives you such signals, you need to seek professional assistance as soon as possible.

Excessive Sweating

Another common health symptom that’s ignored is excessive sweating. Various activities and conditions can cause you to sweat, from working out to being in a room with high temperatures or even anxiety. Anything that induces natural perspiration is probably nothing to concern yourself about. In some cases, dehydration can also cause your body to sweat profusely when you drink water. However, if you find yourself pouring in situations that do not warrant you sweat, or you start experiencing sudden intense sweating, that could be a signal that something is wrong with your system.

Various health conditions can cause excessive sweating. These include acromegaly, Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), diabetic hypoglycemia, and lymphoma. So, anytime you feel your body dripping too much for too long, be sure to seek medical advice.

Needing to Crank Up the Volume

If you’ve noticed that you always need to turn up the volume to the max to listen to music or watch television, then you might want to get your hearing examined by an audiologist. That’s because you may be experiencing hearing loss, and an audiologist will be in a better position to assist you. You can take the time to learn more about the duties of an audiologist.

Now that you know the most common health symptoms you should never ignore, you can be more mindful of your body. Not every health issue comes with the obvious fever symptom, shivering, severe headaches, and the like. You mustn’t ignore symptoms that show up with regularity – this is your body signaling you that something is wrong. At the same time, you should be mindful of lifestyle factors that impact your health
