In the quest to get great-looking arms, all the muscles in the arms must be worked out. Right now, I am talking specifically about the triceps.
Ideally, the triceps are stimulated through intensity (heavier weight, enough repetitions and fatiguing the muscles) and volume (good amount of sets). An amazing exercise to implement is tricep pushdowns. They are also great to eliminate those “grandma arms”.
Using a cable machine, you can attach a rope to the pulley and pull it down in a controlled manner. You add slight variety to the movement by changing the attachments, an E-Z bar or a V-angled bar, in order to challenge the muscles a little bit differently.
It is important to use enough resistance but not a very heavy weight that your upper body compensates, taking the emphasis away from the triceps.
Remember, whether you want to lose weight, tone your body, gain strength or size, all muscles must be trained.
