I commonly get asked weight loss tips and tips to stay healthy. Today, I’m addressing apps, which are tools available to help keep us stay healthy, fit, and lean.

Apps are useful tools that can help not only avid fitness enthusiasts but everyone. Health and fitness apps provide interactive solutions to many of our problems. They are easy to use and can be employed to help achieve a variety of goals.


Benefits of Health and Fitness Apps

  • Tracking: The most common apps offer activity tracking. These are sensor-based and trace down human movements. They measure steps are taken, cycling activity, and even sleeping and heart activity. At the same time, they provide an estimation of calories burned.
  • Visualize Progress: Apps can provide a database so you can have a more accurate picture of your physical state, which can even be shared with your physician. Simultaneously, they can serve as a fitness planner to live a healthier lifestyle. Others can offer the ability to set and track progress toward numerous goals. By using the phone’s GPS, they can track your location, mileage, and speed and provide progress reports. You can now have data-based knowledge of your training efforts.
  • Meal Planning: Nutrition-related apps can give you a better idea of the calories you consume, as well as your macronutrient ratio (how much protein, carbs, and fats you are consuming). Armed with this knowledge, you can make adjustments to your diet and reach your fat loss and/or muscle-building goals.
  • Nutrition Tools: Some apps can also give you recipes based on your goals, preferences, or any food intolerance you may have.
  • Anywhere Fitness: Apps can allow you to exercise any time and anywhere. By providing workout routines, you don’t necessarily need a gym, you can perform home exercises or while traveling.
  • Guidance: If you are totally new to training, apps can guide you step by step making the process smoother.
  • At-Home Training: On the same note, beginners can feel less intimidated when going to the gym due to the added comfort of having an ally at the reach of their hands.
  • Variety: If you are a fitness enthusiast, apps can give you workout ideas to add variety to your training.
  • Challenge Yourself: Apps can challenge you. By customizing your workouts based on your current fitness level, time, and desired workout intensity, you can push yourself harder.
  • Socialize: Apps can incorporate social experiences. Sharing your workouts or results with others can increase accountability,  motivation, and your competitive edge.
  • Gamification: Incorporating gamification and some fun technologies, like virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), apps can make working out a more dynamic and fun experience. AR fitness apps will soon be more common.
