The Arnold press is a variation of the dumbbell shoulder press. It has a twisting motion and starts with the palms facing your body as opposed to facing the front of the room. It offers a bigger range of motion while still targeting the shoulders, deltoid muscles.
Arnold presses mainly focus on the front and side deltoid muscles. At the same time, they involve secondarily the lateral deltoids, trapezius, triceps, biceps, and even forearms.
Hold the dumbbells in front of your shoulders with your palms facing you and your elbows tucked in close to your body. Exhale and press the dumbbells overhead. As you extend up, twist your forearms so your palms face forward. Slowly lower the dumbbells and twist them back to the starting position.
