Wanna have good-looking arms? It is important to train different arm muscles, among them the triceps!

An awesome exercise with a super cool name is Skull Crushers, also known as “lying triceps extensions.”   They isolate the back of the arms, making them stronger and more defined. This is a way of eliminating those dreaded “grandma arms” for the girls and of exhibiting powerful arms for the males.

When starting to perform them, please display caution!  They are not called skull crushers for nothing…   Generally, the bar ends up by your forehead so you must use a weight that you can manipulate.  Start light to get used to the movement and ease into the weight.

The exercise can be performed with barbells, dumbbells or bands. It is best to use the EZ curl barbell in order to put less pressure on the wrist as they are angled. If you use dumbbells use a hammer curl position.

Also you can modify the exercise by using different angles. You can keep the hands all the way to the center of the bar or shoulder width (the closer the hands, the harder to perform).

It is just important to keep your core tight and to remain in control of the weight. Remember, you don’t want them to crush your skull!!  😉
